3 factors to consider when buying a crane

A crane is a noteworthy investment, and the purchase decision has long-term repercussions. Properly analyzing the needs a crane must fulfill is as important as the decision itself. These tips will keep you on the right path.

1. Establish the purpose of the crane.

Is the crane meant for a standard industrial task or perhaps for something more specialized, such as paper roll storage? The nature of your operations should always be considered. Konecranes has a wide range of products and features to suit many industries and operations.

2. Identify the basic requirements.

The basic requirements – including capacity, duty class, span and height of lift – should be clear. Also the surrounding environmental conditions, such as the temperature, need to be taken into account. Konecranes can visit facilities to evaluate the working environment and its precise needs.

3. Assess the need for additional features.

Konecranes has a wide selection of additional features. For example, cranes can be equipped with radio remote control, ASR or ESR variable hoisting speeds or Sway Control and Target Positioning. These features can enhance the performance and productivity of a crane.
