A tour of Konecranes new Remote Center

October 26, 2016

Take a tour of Konecranes new Remote Center in Hyvinkää, which provides technical support for field service operatives and TRUCONNECT customers around the world. Bringing multiple teams together under one roof to offer online remote troubleshooting and support, it is connected to more than 12,000 cranes globally.

Konecranes new Remote Center in Hyvinkää, Finland, was established following a clear customer need for real-time remote troubleshooting to help reduce downtime and improve productivity. It links together data, people and more than 12,000 cranes globally – key to the future of industry.

“We found very quickly that the Industrial Internet is not only about information and communications technology (ICT). We need to combine the crane experience we have – for engineering, for manufacturing – with our long experience of servicing those pieces of equipment,” says Petri Asikainen, Director, Product Development, Group Technology. “To be successful and to be able to deliver that value to customers, we combined all those people together in one space.”

According to Jukka Paasonen, Director, Technology and Quality in Service at Konecranes, the world is changing and Konecranes has to change, too. “Digitalization, networking, being connected – those rule the world today. Soon those will rule the other industries. This supports Konecranes’ vision as well."
